Know Your Customer (KYC) Policy
Effective July 6, 2026
This Know Your Customer Policy (“KYC Policy”) explains what identity information RZK Precious Metals and Rare Coins LLC (“RZK,” “we,” “us”) collects, how it is verified, and when verification is required. It works together with our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Policy and our Privacy Policy. This policy should be reviewed periodically by qualified BSA/AML legal counsel alongside the AML program it supports.
1. Why We Verify Identity
RZK deals in covered goods — gold, silver, other precious metals, and rare and graded coins. Federal law (the Bank Secrecy Act and its implementing regulations, including 31 C.F.R. Part 1027) requires dealers like RZK to know who they are transacting with, keep records, and prevent the platform from being used for money laundering or other illicit activity. Identity verification also protects our customers: it deters fraud, account takeover, stolen payment instruments, and fraudulent chargebacks in a market where goods are high-value and easily resold.
2. Who Must Complete KYC
- Buyers. Every customer must complete identity verification before placing a bid in a live auction, completing a purchase on the exchange, or enrolling in a recurring monthly purchase plan. Browsing the site and creating a basic account do not require verification.
- Sellers and auction hosts. Anyone applying to sell or host a live auction on the platform must complete identity verification and be approved by RZK before their first sale or stream.
- Business customers. Customers transacting on behalf of a company may be required to provide entity documentation (e.g., formation documents, EIN) and to identify the beneficial owners and the individual authorized to act for the entity.
3. What We Collect
At account creation and during verification, RZK collects, at minimum:
- Full legal name and date of birth (customers must be 18 or older).
- Residential address and, if different, shipping address.
- Email address and phone number.
- A selfie of you holding a piece of paper that says RZK ACCOUNT CREATED plus the date of upload, and clear photos of the front and back of an unexpired government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver's license, state ID, or passport).
For higher-value or higher-risk activity, RZK may request additional documentation, such as proof of address, source-of-funds or source-of-wealth documentation, or entity/beneficial-ownership records.
4. How Verification Works
Buyers upload three images on the Verify ID page: the selfie with the paper phrase, plus ID front and back. Documents are stored in a private vault and reviewed by authorized RZK staff, who compare the selfie to the ID photo and confirm the ID is unexpired. Most reviews complete within one business day. You will see a status of pending, verified, or rejected (with a short note if you need to re-upload). After approval, you must also save a card in RZK Wallet before you can buy or bid.
A future automated identity vendor (for example Persona, Veriff, or Jumio) may replace or assist manual review; until then, RZK staff approval is required before buying or bidding.
In addition to document checks, RZK screens customers against U.S. government sanctions and watchlists (including the OFAC SDN list) at onboarding and on an ongoing basis, as described in our AML Policy.
5. Outcomes
- Verified. Your account is marked verified and you may bid, purchase, enroll in plans, and (if approved) sell.
- Needs input. If a check cannot be completed (e.g., a blurry photo or expired document), you will be asked to retry with corrected information or an alternative document.
- Declined. RZK reserves the right to decline or close any account that fails verification, appears on a sanctions or watchlist, provides false or inconsistent information, or otherwise presents unacceptable risk. Where permitted by law, we will tell you that verification failed, but we are not required to disclose the specific reason.
6. Re-Verification & Ongoing Monitoring
RZK may require re-verification when:
- Your ID document on file expires.
- Account details material to identity (legal name, address) change.
- Unusual account activity, a payment dispute, or a suspected account takeover occurs.
- Transaction size or frequency increases materially beyond your established profile.
7. Data Protection & Retention
Identity information is used only for verification, compliance, fraud prevention, and order fulfillment, and is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Verification records are retained for at least five (5) years as required by federal recordkeeping rules, and are accessible only to personnel with a compliance need to know. We never sell identity data.
8. Your Responsibilities
- Provide true, current, and complete information, and keep your account details up to date.
- Verify only your own identity — accounts are personal and may not be created or verified on behalf of another person, except authorized representatives of business customers.
- Use payment methods in your own name. Third-party payments may be rejected and may trigger a compliance review.
9. Policy Review & Amendments
This KYC Policy is reviewed at least annually, and promptly upon any material change in RZK's business, verification providers, or applicable law, and updated with approval from RZK's owners/officers and, as appropriate, outside legal counsel.
